YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – Governor Kristi Noem in her budget address to the legislature, proposed that the state make loans to counties that had flood and storm damage this year. Then when counties are reimbursed by FEMA they could repay the state loans.
Yankton County Commission Chairman Dan Klimisch says he isn’t sure a loan would be much help.
Klimisch says he wants more details on what the Governor has proposed.
Yankton County had road and bridge damage in two rounds of flooding in March and again in September.
