YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The business cutbacks and lay offs forced by the coronavirus pandemic are hitting local governments in their budgets.

Yankton City Manager Amy Leon says they saw another monthly drop in sales taxes.

Leon says they have avoided the worst so far.

Leon says they will miss out on a lot of summer activities this year.

Leon says she hopes to have a preliminary budget to the city commission by early next month.
