YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The Yankton County Commission was forced to reject all the bids for replacement of the Stone Church Bridge over the James River.
The lowest bid was double the estimate for new bridge construction.
Commission vice chair Cheri Loest says they will ask for more state funding next year.
Loest says there may be more federal funding available.
Loest says the bid rejection pushes back their construction timeline.
The county has four bridges over the James River that are on the replacement list.
