YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Yankton County got some good news last week with the award of a BIG, or bridge improvement grant, from the state Transportation Department.
County Commissioner Dan Klimisch says the grant will be used to replace the Stone Church Bridge over the James River.
Klimisch says the county has it’s funding set aside.
Klimisch says it will take some time for the design and construction of the bridge.
The state made grants to twenty three counties in the latest round, totaling just under twenty five million dollars.
