YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The rapid rise in COVID-19 infections has elected officials concerned about getting the message out about public health.
Yankton Mayor Nathan Johnson says he is listening to the experts.
Those months also include several traditional holidays and family gatherings.
The death toll from COVID is now at 375 people. Johnson says that has to be put into perspective.
Johnson says public officials have a responsibility to encourage healthy behaviors.
The state now has more than 11,000 active cases of coronavirus.
