Yankton physician says long way to go to get back to normal

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The surge in positive coronavirus cases continues in South Dakota with active cases now totaling around 3,700.

Yankton Doctor Mike Pietila says they are seeing many of those patients end up in the Intensive Care Units.

Pietila says some schools are seeing the impacts of wearing or not wearing face masks.

Pietila says there is still a long way to go to get back to somewhat normal.

Pietila says they have had at least one patient transferred from Sioux Falls to the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital ICU.
