YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – Despite recent reports that show the numbers of coronavirus infections flattening, people still need to keep their distance and wear a mask.

Dr. Mike Pietila of Yankton says those practices are paying off.

Pietila says he isn’t seeing enough people wearing masks.

Pietila says there are some trends he is watching.

Pietila says it is very possible there will be another significant peak this fall, and the virus will be circulating until there is a vaccine or until the population gets to herd immunity.
