The Yankton School Board got an update on the ongoing facilities study plan at a special meeting Monday night.
Superintendent Wayne Kindle says they have had a lot of public input on their plan.
That input led them to hire consultants to design a building that would meet the need.
Valerie Peterson of Wold Architects outlined how their plan would unfold.
Peterson says there could be a second phase for the early childhood education plan.
The sixty-eight thousand square foot building would cost between seventeen and twenty one million dollars and could be paid for with capital outlay certificates. The board will hold a public hearing on the plan in April and may vote on it at their May meeting.
