YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The Yankton School Board held a special meeting Thursday to remove some of their face mask requirements. Those that are fully vaccinated can now be in school buildings without masks.
Board President Sarah Carda says their face mask policy helped get students and staff successfully to the end of the school year.
Carda says the policy can be seen as an incentive to get vaccinated.
Superintendent Wayne Kindle says the board policy should get some credit for helping keep Covid-19 infections under control.
The board will decide on policy for the next school year at their August meeting.
