Yankton school superintendent dispute some of Governor Noem’s claims in education

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem announced on social media this week that she was the first candidate to sign the “1776 Pledge to Save Our Schools.”

That is from a website that supports former President Trumps education plan. Noem says schools need to stop teaching children to hate their own country.

Yankton School Superintendent Wayne Kindle says that’s not happening in his district.

Kindle says planning what they teach students is an open, public process.

Kindle says the district has a history of solid academics.

Noem called it the “biggest cultural challenge of our lifetime.”
