YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The City of Yankton recorded another strong month of sales taxes in March.

City Manager Amy Leon talked about the numbers.

Leon says they believe part of the increase was people preparing for the coronavirus shutdown.

Leon says they are making plans for taxes to fall off in the months ahead.

Governor Kristi Noem has said she expects a sharp drop in sales taxes and that local governments will share the pain.
