Yankton superintendent says COVID protocols are working

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The Yankton School District saw a bit of a jump in positive Covid-19 infections in the weekly report on Friday. There were seven positives at the high school, two at the middle school and two among the four elementary schools.

Superintendent Wayne Kindle says they expected worse following the Thanksgiving break.

Kindle says it has taken a lot of cooperation to keep schools open this far.

The school board imposed a face mask mandate in August. Kindle says he sees it working.

Schools will dismiss for the Christmas break next Tuesday.
