Yankton superintendent says lawmakers need to listen to schools

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – During each legislative session, there are numerous bills aimed at schools, ranging from funding, to policy and procedures.

Yankton School Superintendent Wayne Kindle says in the midst of the pandemic, lawmakers need to listen to schools.

Kindle says schools need some help from the state to keep students healthy and in the classrooms.

Kindle says he will invite the District 18 legislators to meet with the school board before the 2021 session starts.

Governor Kristi Noem will give her budget address to legislators on Dec. 8. The Yankton School Board will meet in Dec. 14.
