YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – With the later start to the 2020 South Dakota legislative session, school officials will have more time to talk to lawmakers about the flat increase in state aid proposed for next year.
Yankton Superintendent Wayne Kindle is reminding legislators of the agreement made in 2016.
Kindle says there has been a budget surplus at the end of the last few budget years.
Kindle says the baseline state aid increase is just keeping up.
The legislative session starts on Jan. 14.
