Yankton Supt. shares thoughts on educational funds

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – In her budget address to the legislature earlier this month, Governor Kristi Noem proposed a 2,4 percent increase in state aid to education for next year.

Yankton Superintendent Wayne Kindle says it’s a good start.

Kindle says they would also be interested in sharing in any one-time money the legislature hands out.

With many students using remote learning due to the pandemic, Kindle says the legislature may want to take a look at home school rules.

Kindle says 10 to 20 percent of students have been using remote learning during the first semester.
