Handgun found in backpack of special education student in Watertown
WATERTOWN, S.D. (KXLG) — In a voice message to parents Wednesday Watertown Intermediate School Principal Jennifer Bollinger informed parents that an alert staff member at the school observed an unloaded handgun in a special education student’s backpack. She says the backpack was immediately brought to her office and the police notified.
Serious crime declines in South Dakota

The report released Tuesday by Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg defines serious crimes as those against person, property or society.
