California murder suspect arrested in Pierre

PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- A 41 year old man suspected of murder in California was arrested without incident Tuesday morning in Pierre. Police Captain Bryan Walz says they received information that Bryan Parker of San Diego, California, was staying at a residence in the area. The City of San Diego had issued an arrest warrant for Parker concerning a murder in their jurisdiction. Walz says the arrest warrant was served in the 200 block of North Euclid just before 10am. He says the Central South Dakota SWAT team, compromised of members of the Pierre Police Department and Hughes County Sheriff’s Office, assisted the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigations in the joint operation. Walz says traffic on Euclid was temporarily halted when the operation began because a flash sound diversionary device was deployed adjacent to the street. Parker was taken into custody without incident. Also assisting was American Medical Response ambulance service. Parker is currently being held at the Hughes County Jail.
